Bank of America Tower, also known as 110 North Wacker, in Chicago has been recognized among the top 10 international buildings to receive the Emporis Skyscraper Award for the year 2020. Developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation and Riverside Investment & Development, the tower was one of only three in the U.S. to be recognized and the only one in Chicago.

The winning towers are selected by an international jury of architectural experts from more than 300 skyscrapers around the world that were completed in 2020 with a minimum height of 100 meters. Buildings are judged based on excellence in aesthetic and functional design. For more than 20 years, the award has been conveyed by Emporis, the international provider of building data based in Germany.

Located along the Chicago River, Bank of America Tower is both the city's tallest office building and the second-largest office building to be delivered in three decades, at 56 stories and 1,770,000 square feet. The tower’s distinctive form accentuates its verticality and provides extensive open space throughout, beginning at the ground level with an expansive 45-foot-wide riverwalk, covered 55 feet above. Three large, tree-like structural elements spaced 90 feet apart transfer out the tower columns along the river and further open the site. The result is a sheltered, landscaped walkway that connects two important pedestrian paths and maintains an effectively unobstructed river view. In combination with other space, the site is 50% open and publicly accessible at grade.
